Ebenezer Baptist church is a well known historic baptist church thats most suitably
known for hosting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as its Senior Pastor.
Overview
The Problem
Over the last 5 years, the congregation growth has been limited to members over the age of 40. Ebenezer needed a more modern presence to attract younger millennial generations to sustain longevity of the church.
The Goal
The goal was to create a new website & companion app that keeps its congregation engaged and plugged into news & events.

The Process
1. Client On-boarding
Spoke with the client to gain insights and goals for the project.
2. Ideation
The entire team discussed roles and responsibilities based on the quick turnaround time requested by the client. Once the roles were established, we decided what goals could be meet on the MVP.
3. Design
I created Low Fidelity Wireframe designs then quickly transitioned into Hi-Fidelity Mockups
4. Development
Worked closely with the Dev Team to develop the core MVP Website using Wordpress CMS.
5. Iteration
After the initial launch, The team proceeded with additional promotion graphics and print material. Additional content pages was continually added to the website as needed.
After the main website launch, the mobile app and a livestream media page was created. The mobile app was developed using “PhoneGap.” This allowed us to have both an iOS app and Android app.
Visual Design
Color Choices
Since the organization was targeting a younger demographic, we decided to go with a
fun small assortment of colors that complimented the logo.
Typeface Choices
We chose a combination of Serif & San Serif to represent a historical church reaching
out to a modern audience.
Landing Page
Upon entering the site, users are prompted with a choice to enter the homepage directly
or explore the church introductory page.
Homepage Layout
The homepage was designed with a call to action to “join the congregation.” This was the primary user goal for the site upon launch. Upcoming events are also present in a dynamic slideshow format.
Subpages
Subpages were designed to show off the vibrant new color scheme. Dynamic shapes
& photography really lended well to the finished product.
Mobile App Screens
The companion app that was developed after the site was designed to give users a quick glance at upcoming events.
Challenges

• Receiving usable assets such as Photos, Downloadable Documents & Video Content.
